Where We Work

East Palo Alto

Palo Alto is known as a hub of education and new ideas – it’s the home of countless leaders in the tech-industry and the site of Stanford University’s campus. But in the East Palo Alto, on the other side of the freeway from Palo Alto and where College Track has made its home, only 29 percent of African-American students and 36 percent of Hispanic students graduate meeting the California state college readiness standards. This inequality has long been the norm. It’s why in 1997, College Track opened the doors of a small, store-front center to 25 students in the Sequoia Union High School District. Since then, College Track has grown and expanded into a fixture in the East Palo Alto community.

Today, we have launched more than 350 students to college and have seen 183 of them through to earning their college degree. We’re so proud of these students, and we are thrilled to support 200 high school students in their pursuit of a college degree.
