College Track is a free college completion program serving all Sacramento students from low-income households who will be the first in their family to earn a bachelor’s degree.

We are looking for committed, positive, and motivated students who are about to enter high school and ready for the structure and support that a college-going community provides.

Our program is open to all eligible students, regardless of race, ethnicity, or citizenship status.

Qualifications:

  • Determined to graduate from college
  • Available to attend programming approximately 3-5 hours per week, between 3:15-7:00 pm
  • Committed to achieving and maintaining a 3.0 GPA or greater
  • Interested in extracurriculars like community service, study abroad programs, and internships

What you need to apply:

  • Submit an application online or download and return in person
  • Provide a copy of your middle school transcript
  • Sign our release of confidential information form
  • Participate in a student interview and write a short essay on-site during your visit

Recruitment Timeline

Application

Applications are accepted through the spring for 8th grade recruitment and through the fall for 9th grade recruitment. Feel free to reach out to the location near you for more information. In addition to applying online, you can also print out an application and bring it to your local center.

Interview

After applications are submitted and reviewed, every student participates in a short interview at their local center. These interviews provide our students the opportunity to share their high school and college goals.

Admissions

Acceptance letters are sent to students with additional instructions regarding how to confirm participation in the program.

Orientation

Once accepted, students participate in New Student Orientation (NSO), during which they get to meet their new peers, learn more about our program, and officially join the College Track family!

Programming

The first day of College Track programming begins within a week of New Student Orientation (NSO). Our staff work with each student to create a schedule that aligns with their individual needs and obligations.
