Carolina Martín is a seasoned nonprofit executive, passionate public servant, and advocate for equitable access to education and economic opportunity.
With over two decades of leadership across education, philanthropy, and economic empowerment, Carolina brings a unique perspective to public service. She has led high-performing development teams and forged strategic partnerships focused on building pathways for students and families to access the college and career opportunities they deserve. Her executive leadership spans organizations such as Breakthrough San Francisco Day School, DonorsChoose, United Way Bay Area, and the Hispanic Scholarship Fund—where she helped raise over $100 million to support students, educators, and entrepreneurs of color.
Carolina began her career as a classroom teacher and has maintained a lifelong commitment to youth and education through both her professional roles and civic engagement. She currently serves as School Board President for San Rafael City Schools and has held board roles with several nonprofit organizations.
An immigrant and proud mother of twins in SRCS schools, Carolina is deeply invested in fostering inclusive, high-quality educational environments and empowering the next generation of changemakers.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education and a Master’s in Educational Leadership from the University of San Diego. Outside of work, Carolina enjoys cheering on her twins at their sporting events, coaching, cooking, and spending time in nature with her family.
