Dan Sullivan, Executive Site Director of College Track Denver, and College Track scholar Alexis recently spoke with Public News Service about proposed federal budget cuts that would reduce support for first-generation and under-resourced college students in Colorado and across the country.
Sullivan emphasized that these students bring drive, talent, and persistence, yet often lack the family roadmap of their peers. Cutting key federal programs would remove critical resources at a time when the need for skilled workers continues to grow.
Alexis, a sophomore at Colorado School of Mines, shared how College Track’s ongoing support has helped him navigate college at his own pace and stay focused on earning his degree.
