Learning Labs
Scholars build essential skills, explore academic interests, and prepare for college and career success through Learning Labs, including STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics).
College Readiness starts early, equipping scholars with what they need to build the foundation for college success and beyond.
College Readiness is where a scholar’s College Track journey begins. Starting in ninth grade and continuing through senior year, scholars take part in a structured program designed to close the gap between where they are and where they’re headed: a bachelor’s degree, and everything it makes possible.
College Readiness programming is built around five pillars that shape the whole scholar:
Scholars build essential skills, explore academic interests, and prepare for college and career success through Learning Labs, including STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics).
Scholars meet regularly with a College Track advisor for 1:1 academic advising, from setting goals and mapping out a plan for college to navigating admissions and financial aid.
Scholars take part in college tours and college rep visits to see campus life firsthand and start picturing themselves there.
Scholars attend LEAD workshops that grow with them each year, from building self-awareness and identity in ninth grade to preparing for the transition to college in twelfth, covering everything from purpose and leadership to financial literacy and college-going know-how.
Scholars reach key milestones together, from New Scholar & Family Orientation in ninth grade where scholars and families first join the College Track community through each year of high school, to Launch to College, a celebration of scholars’ journey through the program as they head to college.
Through College Track, I have met many new people and gained lessons I wouldn’t have gotten if I hadn’t joined the program. Creating an app earlier this year introduced me to a whole new experience that even made me interested in coding. I’m grateful that this program is introducing me to things that were outside of my comfort zone before.”
