Experiencia a trav\u00e9s de los ojos de un par<\/b><\/h4>\r\nLa tarde comenz\u00f3 con un panel dirigido por los becarios de UMBC College Track y el entrenador de Thrive, Ram\u00f3n Hilliard, exalumno de UMBC. Los becarios reci\u00e9n admitidos y potenciales tuvieron la oportunidad de aprender sobre la experiencia universitaria, la vida en el campus y la importancia de construir comunidad durante sus a\u00f1os universitarios.<\/span>\r\n\r\nTras el panel, los acad\u00e9micos se embarcaron en un recorrido por el campus sin igual. Abriendo puertas y definiendo el canal<\/b><\/h4>\r\nAl atardecer, el grupo se dirigi\u00f3 a una cena formal de socios de la universidad, donde el ambiente era de celebraci\u00f3n y prop\u00f3sito compartido.<\/span>\r\n\r\nDale Bittinger, UMBC's Assistant Vice Provost of Strategic Undergraduate Engagement, Partnerships, and Pathways, opened the evening's program. His remarks highlighted the strong alignment between College Track's mission and UMBC's commitment to accessible, high-quality education. He spoke passionately about the launch of our Baltimore site, UMBC's dedication to Baltimore City, and his eagerness to welcome more scholars to campus for future events. He closed his remarks by encouraging scholars to dream big and embrace the possibilities ahead.<\/span>\r\n\r\nOne of the highlights of the evening was an interactive activity called \"Pipeline,\" led by <\/span>Jennifer Riehl, Senior Assistant Director of Campus Visits and Events in UMBC's Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Working in teams alongside faculty, staff, and current UMBC students, College Track scholars collaborated to transport different-sized balls down a long hallway using limited materials. The activity served as a powerful metaphor for the journey from high school to college graduation, challenging scholars to practice teamwork, problem-solving, and perseverance\u2014while experiencing firsthand the pipeline of support available through both College Track and UMBC.<\/span>\r\n

Un compromiso de 10 a\u00f1os en acci\u00f3n<\/b><\/h4>\r\nThis gathering was more than just a dinner\u2014it was a reflection of College Track's 10-year integrated program in action. By bringing together high school and college scholars, UMBC alumni, faculty, staff, and university leadership, we continue to bridge the gap between high school potential and college success.<\/span>\r\n\r\n\"I've always believed that some of the deepest connections are formed around a table. I wanted to co-create a space with UMBC where scholars, faculty, and staff could come together\u2014not defined by their roles, but united in our shared humanity.<\/span><\/i>\r\n\r\nAs scholars navigate their college decisions, they're searching for more than academics\u2014they're searching for belonging. At this dinner, they didn't just hear about the community\u2014they felt it.
